This will be one of those storms that gives very little warning. In the era of sailing ships it would have been devastating, like you read about in the history books.

Fortunately we now have good harbours, and advance warnings. Even the computer models are better, since forecasting rapid intensification requires a lot of satellite data and processing power.

What 8 - 9 Cold? we have had a few nights down to 4 degrees this week. Long time since that has happened.

LOL, I'm still wearing shorts! My flat was warm from this morning's sunshine, and I was cleaning leaves from the stormwater drain outside our building. No point in phoning the council today...

Came home early. Cleaned out the gutters for the water tanks - actually drained the smaller one.
All our vehicles parked inside. Everyone's whereabouts are accounted for. Wood chopped, fire going.

Just a warning, if rain ruins visibility I expect people to stop on the N1 or N2. Be safe if you are on the roads.
