Rain and storm for Cpt

Rain just started...

@Gordon_R will look at the webcam now.

Looks like drizzle something in Silvermine and Tokai area.

The rain will be quite patchy with this storm. Its still developing, and moisture in circulation is not evenly distributed.

Edit: Just went downstairs (Kenilworth), and some large raindrops appeared out of nowhere. An hour ago the sun was shining...

This is going to be a fun evening. I am usually on high alert for stuff like this - in case anything untoward happens like a piece of a neighbors tree ending up in our roof.

And it's starting to come down in Milnerton.
Damn.... Now I feel like curry tonight.
Will brave the shops later

Edit: The guy who does our garden has his chainsaw ready to do fallen trees, etc...

The 2pm satellite image shows fully developed front about to make landfall. There was nothing 6 hours ago...

P.S. Main gate got stuck open. Had to go down in the rain to deal with it...

6mm in our gauge in Kenilworth up to 3.30pm. Less windy now,

Gusts upwards of 85km/h forecast for Noordhoek. Batten down the hatches.

Starting heavily here in Paarl (Wind).
It will most definitely be worse in Wellies.
Glad I got my gas heater in the nick of time. :)

Cannot believe how fast this came in. Was at a client in town. Arrived in bright sunshine and with it being town, had to park a mile away. By the time I left, I was running through a downpour. Not complaining mind you. Hope there's some nice run off into the dams over the next day or two.

I had the same plan and then discovered the coriander in the fridge had gone off.

Now I'll make a quick chili instead.
