There will be gale force north-westerly to westerly winds (65-80km/h) between Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas in the early morning, spreading eastwards to Plettenberg Bay by late morning and to Port St Johns in the afternoon as well as the Central Karoo of the Western Cape.

The EUMetsat composite image shows a few features in the system. The main front passed over Cape Town during the early hours of this morning, but there is still significant storm activity offshore. Very cold air is moving in, and will bring showers and snow over the mountains this afternoon:
