Should be good for our dams then!

Inflow into the Berg River Dam peaked at 55m^3/sec yesterday, but has dropped significantly since then.

The level of the Berg River Dam rose from 68.1% yesterday morning to 70.3% at 6am today (Thurs 11th).

Eskom seems to be struggling with this weather. Electricity has now gone on and off a few times, just switched everything in the house off. Wife says it's the same in somerset west. Wonder if this will be leading to loadshedding this week.

That's not Eskom. That's your local electricity supply.

I see the Dwarsberg weather station not reporting rain anymore, but suspect it can be because the temperature dropped to basically 0 so the water has frozen. Remember that happening before.

was wondering about that, pissing down in Gardens today - I thought, dammit, raining here, but not where it needs to be :-)

Rained on the farm in the Hanover district also, but not much. 7 mm. The rain was pretty widespread and penetrated quite far inland beyond the coastal mountain ranges.

Colleagues in CPT shared their image on Teams earlier today. They were dressed for polar conditions, lol. I think they said the real-feel outside was something like 6C.

Tomorrow Jozi drops to a modest 8C. The real-feel maybe a little lower. The only upside, methinks, is the absence of sky wetness that our friends in CPT endure.

I'm working from home, 1m to the left is my fireplace, been going since this morning 7am, on my right, a heater. I'm sitting with a down jacket, thick fleece pants, and a scarf wrapped around my head and neck. Wool boots on. And still cold!
