This is an old video from a couple of years ago, there are also photos of Kalk Bay going around which are even older.

I see the Dwarsberg weather station not reporting rain anymore, but suspect it can be because the temperature dropped to basically 0 so the water has frozen. Remember that happening before.

Confusing Sea Point to Paarden Eiland is like confusing JHB and Cape Town...

The Sea Point foam must be old footage. That only happens during a north-westerly storm. We did not have any north-westerly wind at all during this event.

That's a typical for sea-level during a snow event. The temperature drops by around 6C per 1000m elevation, and the freezing-level is currently around 1200m (Dwarsberg as noted above).

For the record Dwarsberg recorded 146mm up to midnight on Wed 10th! The temperature on Dwarsberg is currently 0.7C (12.30pm), though the rain gauge is probably still frozen solid.

actually when its a meter under water parts look very similar. When I watched it again I saw the trees and relised it couldn't be Paarden Eiland.
