Where can I check yesterday's wind speed for Wellington? Every weather service site only displays from the current day and onwards.
4 layers of socks and a beanie is normal for me now, even while sleeping. I'm not one to watch the weather that closely, but this must be the coldest winter I've ever experienced, day after day of sub 10 night temps. The rain's just kicked off again now.I'm dressed up like I'm off to the Arctic and I have a small heater to warm my legs but yet I'm still feeling blerry cold!
Just spotted a flash of lightning
I didn't post earlier, but there was light hail thrashing against my south facing bedroom window at 4am this morning. Hopefully a bit drier today.
N.B. No significant rain in the foreseeable future, and much warmer by Fri 17th.

They were talking of raising the dam wall to significantly increase capacity, but with all the corruption at national Water Board, quite sure it has been put on hold.
It's not put on hold, and don't confuse the well run DA Western Cape government with the corrupt ANC run government.
Update: Clanwilliam Dam wall raising
A long-delayed project to raise the Clanwilliam Dam wall, will be completed by March 2023, and is projected to cost R3.5 billion.www.westerncape.gov.za
yep, but what got my attention is - the project is the responsibility of the National Department of Water and Sanitation. - have they not declared they have no money?
Would be keen to see a progress report![]()
Restrictions are at Level 1 already. Doubt the city will ever go to 'Level 0' because they need to show permanent saving measures. Cape Town never went below Level 1, at least not in past 15 years.Too soon to ask for water restrictions to be lifted?
