You Capies are stealing all our rain here up north! We've only had 2mm of rain this season so far, where we normally should have had >50mm by now. You had your share, start sending it up towards us. The older generation have always said the Highveld will only be getting it's rain after it finished raining in the Cape.

Off-topic for this thread, but some rain in the Free State and Northern Cape during the next three days:

Some rain would be amazing, most the farmers in our region have not yet started preparing their maize fields for planting. It's been too dry for that. Each Sunday morning when I go out on an early morning cycle ride, when look at the unplowed fields I feel sad for the farmers.

TMC (Table Mountain Challenge trail run) was cancelled (or at least postponed until further notice) due to a fire that broke out near Deer Park on Saturday. Fortunately it was brought under control relatively swiftly but it does seem awfully early for fire season. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

Widespread rain is predicted over many parts of SA during the next 5 days, including the SW-Cape, the interior of the Cape province(s), and the central interior (summer rainfall area). Two different events will occur, first an upper trough/cutoff-low, then a winter cold-front.
