The SAWS reports widespread but scattered moderate amounts of rain over many provinces in SA during the 24 hours to 8am on Fri 2nd: https://www.weathersa.co.za/images/data/climate/nr_daily_rai.pdf

Highest (in the area covered by this thread) were: Vredendal 21mm, George 18mm, Swellendam 15mm, etc.

Although Voelvlei and Wemmershoek have not quite yet filled, they are more than made up by the Berg River Dam and Theewaterskloof which are currently at 100.9% and 100.5% respectively.

The cutoff-low is slowly unwinding, but moist onshore flow will bring heavy showers along the southern Cape coast (and Swartberg Mountains) for the next 24 hours. This is quite clear on this morning's EUMetsat image (11am on Fri 2nd).

They said on the radio earlier that the road has been closed to trucks today.
That stretch of road is crazy.

Mostly wind. We were without power (internet still dead...) for most of the day. I tried to drive to Pniel from Kylemore, but had to turn around as the road was blocked by a massive tree. Just as I tried to get back into Kylemore, a tree fell over and blocked the road...
