I forgot to check the CoCT dam levels for last week, up a remarkable 4.7% to 74.5%!
what is exceptional is the comparison of 2021 vs 2020, while a %point uplift of 21.5%, the increase is ~40.5% more water in the dams now vs 2020! :)

I'm always careful when comparing percentages. Another way of looking at the situation:
The current levels of 74% are the highest ever recorded for the start of winter, since the completion of the Berg River Dam in 2008!

You would think thats such a good thing. And what does the city of cape town propose? A 5% increase on water and sanitation.

No. I like to pop in here once in a while and let everyone know how Durban's weather is like though.

The only interesting news you can bring in here about Durban is if you come to tell us that it has fallen into the sea taking Badwill's family with.

Guess the City Just has to Make money and how better than to charge us Wonderful tax payers

I also thought great more water in the dams no water increase at least - Hell no - they hit you hard - water Electric then they still switch off the electric and you still pay for that while its off

Quite a bit more rain today than the few mm forecast, been on and off for most of today, not that heavy, but fairly constant when it does.... raining again as I type with thick100% low cloud cover.

Next 7 days forecast to be dry as a bone and warmer as well, with temp hitting 23C later this week.

It will be cooler from tomorrow onwards (Tues 8th), as a trough and cutoff-low moves in over the Northern Cape, but no significant rain is predicted for CT in the foreseeable future.
Looks like June is gonna be a terrible rainfall month for the Western Cape dams

The Cape Metro dams are already OK. More worried about the interior, and E-Cape areas. SA will always be in drought sonewhere...
Oh them, I was talking about water for me

But yeah, on a serious note we are looking good, and June is kinda dry normally compared to July each year

As I arrived at work this morning there was a faint drizzle for a few seconds. Wonder when we're having rain again, it has been a very dry month of June so far
