Rain and storm for Cpt

Multiple recent model runs show a major frontal system making landfall over CT late on Thurs 26th. This will bring cold and wet conditions to many provinces in the southern half of SA during Fri 27th and Sat 28th. Widespread snow is predicted, at unusually low elevations. Winter having one blast...
 
Well so far models are predicting snow across most of the country and even Nam by the end of the week.

Will probably only have a clearer view during the week, but it does look like we are in for some torrid weather the coming weekend.

Yep, been monitoring that, but last time I was badly disappointed when the models changed significantly at the last minute. Snow is always hard to predict, since a small temperature change makes a big difference. Either way it's going to be very windy and wet over the SW-Cape, but sadly no rain for the PE region this time.

Not shown on that chart, but several model runs show traces of snow in southern Namibia. Also possible in parts of the Free State and Mpumalanga, which is fairly rare (in recent yyears)
 
Bring the rain this entire week, please.
Except for Sunday
I have a hike at Cape Point again and afterwards, we are gonna braai on the beach there :thumbsup:

It doesn't work like that. No rain for CT on Sat 28th, but 50% chance of rain on Sun 29th (will become clearer closer to the time). My cousin asked the same question (birthday event).

We follow different weather apps, mine says rain for Saturday and nothing for Sunday.
Then again, today is only Monday and I would say 384% of the time the weather always gets pushed out a day or so as the week progresses :thumbsup:

one mother-ass cold front there- centre of low is set to go below 940mb, lower than most cat 4 hurricanes (thurs morning forcast)
high pressure ridging in on saturday looks like it will cut off the flow of extra cold air, snow forcasts dropping daily as sat moisture gets pushed out by HP

forcast keeping weakening. prob by the time thursday gets here - freezing levels will 1100/1200m meaning only easily drivable snow would be in the Ceres high lying regions - could hike to a few peaks closer, but time to get to that will be slower and much more effort than just driving to Ceres etc.
