Rain and storm for Cpt

And again this morning in Glencairn, some heavy rain around 7-8am accompanied by dence low cloud.

Totally unexpected!
It's cleared up now, but still broken cloud cover, and there was a fairly strong wind blowing, which seems to have subsided somewhat.

A cold-core upper trough passed over the SW-Cape this morning, producing some weak instability. Due to lack of surface moisture, only a few scattered showers developed. More precipitation will occur along the southern Cape coast, like a weak cutoff-low.

Nice and warm for Saturday, but another weak cold front on Sunday...

Light rain non stop at Theewaterskloof Dam since I arrived at 12pm yesterday. Should clear up in a few hours time.
Was so nice hearing the rain all night on the caravans tin roof

We going to Malgas this next weekend (15th) whats the chances this upcoming rain event fizzles out and we have glorious weather?

Multiple recent model runs show a significant frontal system making landfall over the SW-Cape on Fri 15th. This is likely to produce a prolonged period of cold and wet weather for the entire southern half of SA, before exiting the country on Mon 18th. Widespread snow is possible over the high ground, all the way from the Cederberg to the Drakensberg. More details should become clear closer to the time.

How's that snow forecast looking? Surely very late in the year for snow in the Cape?

October snow in the SW-Cape does happen (usually the last month of the season). The forecasts are a bit weaker, and there is no point in driving to Ceres. Falls over the high ground will extend all the way to the Drakensberg by Sun 17th.

Goddammit.

I sprayed some weedkiller on the stinging nettles infesting my yard and between my pavers and I'm only looking at this thread now after seeing it getting overcast outside. I hope its at least somewhat effective in killing some of it before the poison gets washed away.

You should have just eaten them, they're good for you.
