I have a 12000btu inverter aircon in the bedroom and it runs throughout the night and only uses between 600w and 800w. Much more efficient and cost effective.

Wow, is that the Inverter ones? I want to get something small for my lounge to just take the edge off
600 Watts sounds very low, just what Im looking for. Brand?

The current models comes with WiFi so you can control it from your phone.

I can send you the installers contact or should he able to find them on Facebook marketplace.

Efficient Air is the company name. Not sure if current pricing but it was very good when they did my two installs two years ago and they come out and service them once per year. Last service was in November at R500 per aircon. They do have other brands as well.

You will be surprised how many people don't know Air Conditioners require servicing.....most just run them till they don't cool anything anymore and than investigate. So much ignorance lol.

They just come along and open them and clean out the air filter and move onto the next one


Anyways, North Wester has just this second swung around, now a South Easter here in Somerset West

Must be a very small coastal low, or localised onshore wind, because it's still blowing NW in Kenilworth, only 35km from you...

Edit: Fog moving in over Table Bay. Nice for them, but makes higher humidity in sunny areas...

LOL. Don't rely on the rain prediction, as coastal lows are mostly surface level events. The model I am looking at shows very heavy falls (25-50mm) in the Overberg, but very little for CT itself. See:

That's awesome, maybe I will also get some rain here in Somerset West coz I am closer to the equator than you are in Kenilworth.
I sure hope so today, it feels pretty humid here today.

Around R8k for a 9000btu + R1300 install kit isn't bad, what would installation on that setup typically run?

No idea.. I ordered from and had acdirect install my aircons.. you have seen install costs around 2.7k if you order from Samsung website for example and I think if you buy from Makro and install through them, install costs are also around 2k upwards.. stand corrected though..

That sounds about right and considering all the work involved and that they'll service the warranty on site it's a no brainer.

With this heat for last 2 days and a North Wester breezing in it wouldnt surprise me if we have thunder and lightning out at sea again. Typical for this time of the year annually.
I am in Somerset West so wont be able to see it but folk living on the West Coast always see it miles out at sea every year :thumbsup::thumbsup:
