Rain and storm for Cpt

Most of the lightning seems to be intra-cloud (at least in Kenilworth). Long rumbles of thunder (not particularly loud), but very few ground strikes. Rather slow moving upper trough, will linger over the Cape interior on Thursday.

Mind you, I've slept in worse places and conditions in my past life, although granted I was 30 years younger and had often passed out comatose or on stone floors during my NS.

P.S @Gordon_R There was 1 rumble of lightning/thunder that shook the earth so fiercely it felt like an earthquake! The entire house shuddered! Interesting sensation lol
 
We also just had a massive rumble, electricity went off and then on again. Really loud still.
 
The upper air cut-off low caused some flooding in Laingsburg, which had residents wondering if it would get as bad as the one about 40 years ago. There are some quite dramatic videos in circulation. The farm in the Hanover district has had about 40 mm spread over three days!

Modern weather forecasts are worlds ahead of those prevalent in the early 1980s (Laingsburg floods). It is still difficult to get pinpoint accuracy, but serious rainfall (50mm+) doesn't just appear out of nowhere.
 
Woke up to sunshine and blue skies, but soon turned overcast with v low cloud and drizzle since 8am here in deep south... forecast 2mm of rain but evenso temps unusually mild for nearly mid November...???

The humidity and closeness is the most uncomfortable for me personally, especially when there's no relief even in the late evening...
And this after just 1 relatively warm day, imagine when everything has been heated by days of hot weather...

Still nothing like the scorching 40C+ temps they've recorded in Europe for last few years, so I guess I must be am grateful.
