Rain and storm for Cpt

Rain was forecast 30% chance in Hermanus at 8am then from 9am overcast and wind the rest of the day.

Which of course to us locals only means one thing. Yep, it's absolutely chucking it down and it will probably be on for the rest of the day.

Other than this terrible heat I see that the fire from the other side of the mountain is creeping really fast into Helderberg. It looks like a cauldron from where I live. Like a lava flow into a piping hot pot steaming red.

And the signs of a change soon are pretty remote. The AOO index is still way too positive. The general low over the country seems to be glued in place.

It seemed that we would see the index go negative rather quickly but the trend reversed almost as quickly. And the forecast is swing back positive, which means the cold fronts will carry on skimming past south of SA. At least we had some relief in the last two days or so.

That extended low pressure area on the west is what is causing our hot weather and berg winds in CT.
The one on the right is driving the rain and flooding in the north and KZN.
