with the steep incline of the train track to go over the pass (have actually done that train route) I'd be very surprised if a train can make it up the hill in proper wet conditions actually

according to the current weather prediction the storm is entirely gone, sunny weather today and for the rest of the week

more about repairs needed to damaged roads, powerlines, pipes etc now than the weather itself I believe

The SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) mountain catchment station recorded an incredible 215mm yesterday (Mon 25th). This is in addition to 160mm during the afternoon of Sun 24th. The cumulative total of 375mm (in just over 36 hours) is incomprehensible, but does expain some of the flood damage reported in the Overberg.

I lost my job so had to move out.

And it's no longer my house, transfer happened on Friday. Ex and kids got a place in Uitzicht so walking distance from me.
