I have diverted ALL rainwater into the garden like it is in the transvaal and then the surplus (if there is any) ends up in the street gutter.

I've got that, and pipes aren't leading to nowhere. There are gulleys around the house where the gutters are and they all join the storm water system of the complex behind my house.

I did cover most of these gulleys with a terracotta tile, so the rain water runs onto the lawn. Perhaps that's also some of the water I eventually extract with my wellpoint.
 
The SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek) mountain catchment station recorded 22mm up to midnight (and a bit more this morning).

Highest include Swellendam 58mm, George 32mm, Wellington 17mm, Ladismith 15mm, etc. Scattered falls occurred in most of the western, central and south-east of the country.

The system will gradually move offshore to the south and east, and no subsequent rain is foreseeable for the SW-Cape.

The lack of a fan during loadshedding is what kills me.
 
The humidity levels where we are are not normal. It is about 8% higher. And the winds are berg winds.

Conditions will be much cooler from tomorrow (Fri 5th) onwards, as the wind changes to westerly and a cold front brushes the SW-Cape. However it will be uncomfortable tonight, as coastal fog moves in, and winds remain light and variable.

Looking at the long-term average for Vredekloof, our humidity in the last few days has been 8% above that value on average. The peak was two days ago at 82%.

right now the humidity indoors has dropped from 78% to 59%, but the temperature is still up above 30C.
