No thunder in Helderberg. It is wet, but no heavy rain. The wind is more calm, but still has its bursts as per the usual in this valley.

Been 6 years since a thunderstorm woke me up.. 6 years ago was a massive lightning strike 100 meters from our flat building.. few minutes ago was an absolute beast of thunder here in Kuilsriver..

Persistent moderate rain in Kenilworth this morning. Predicted to last most of the day. Cumulative totals could be quite large.

SAEON Dwarsberg (Jonkershoek mountain catchment) recorded an impressive 98mm up to midnight!

Edit: Maximum wind gust was 32m/s (115km/h)!

Edit: A bit quieter in Kenilworth now. Only 20mm in our rain gauge, but it is not positioned for winds coming from the SE direction.

The council contractors were doing a lot of preventive drain cleaning last month, at least in our area. Autumn leaves get everwhere, particularly during a major wind event.

Lucky you ... the Epping flooding is a year after year problem ... reported numerous times. They just find it easier to plant a traffic vehicle there and force 100's of vehicles into a different direction ... which in itself causes even more chaos

Jah, our pool this am is about 10cm higher than it was yesterday.

But it's also green due to all the sand/dust from all the construction sites around us that blew in there

Boyes Drive temporarily closed from Westlake drive to main road for recovery of the overturned truck

As much as I like them, they will never get enough votes even in WC/CapeTown nvm the rest of the country.

Lets keep on weathering!
At least it will keep the arrogance in the DA down. With more FF+ influence in the coalition, maybe that stupid 3.5kW feed-in rate will be scrapped.
