Don't remember getting this much rain in one day last year in CPT. Really coming down for the last 2 hours or so.

The worst thing one wants to hear at 4h40am during a rainstorm.... "Pappa my room is wet!!". Seems i have a bad roof leak all of sudden. Kids room under water. Wtf. Their tv and xbox drenched.

Barely made it onto the n1.. road flooded, water actually coming out of the storm drains.. then on the n1 drove in 10m visibility at one stage passing through a hail storm and aqua planed about three times though never even going any faster than 80 until it let up past canal walk..

Definitely rained hard during the night, with rumbles of thunder. Slept like a baby...

28.5mm in Kenilworth up to 7am, slightly more than I expected! Seems quiter now.

The outlook for the next 7 days is mostly dry, with a weak cold-front brushing the SW-Cape coast on Sat 28th.

Edit: The SAEON Dwarsberg mountain catchment station recorded 23mm in the hour between 5 and 6am, that is quite a downpour! Cumulative total for the last 12 hours is around 50mm.

You wouldn't happen to know what the weather in Plett will be this weekend?
