Clear skies here in Bellville :hide:
This should be the clouds bringing the rain..

Raining now in Mitchell's Plain... Started after midnight and has been going stop start through the night. Traffic is screwed for the morning.

Jonkershoek has been quite decent since midnight - may it be consistent during course of the day.

*coming down nicely now in Gardens/CT.

The wind during the night was horribe, and the rain took a very long time to arrive, but we had 17.5mm here up to 8am.

Scattered showers are likely throughout today (Tues 8th), persisting overnight into Wed 9th.

The next cold-front is due on Fri 11th.

What the hell happened to Steenbras Upper?

Current: 62.9
Previous week: 85.1

:erm:

Did Zuma and his family have a vacation there last week?

Currently reporting the same! 61.8, but again 85% previous week!

The dam levels are measured only once per week, on Mondays. Don't expect any changes after a day's rain...

I get that, but what i'm referring to is 2 weeks age "Previous week" was 85%, with current at 62. This week "Previous week" is again 85%, with current 61.8%. Last week it did not show current at 85%, so how can previous week be 85%?

We arrived at 1st May 2018 with 182 M.cuM left in the dams, compared with the 171 M.cuM predicted by the model before onset of the April rain.

It now seems certain that, except for any unusual change in water usage patterns, we will arrive at the heart of winter with enough water still stored in the dams to eliminate any risk of queuing/rationing before end of winter in October 2018.

The predictions in our model will now tend to become relatively pessimistic as early rains that we could experience in May will obviously offset anticipated outflows.
