The models are very fickle as you say. The weather guys are talking of a cold front that will reach us later tonight/Saturday, but all I see is a weak low pressure area that may dissipate very quickly. That system could do nothing more than bring some cloudy weather.. Then the synoptic chart shows a high pressure area ridging south of the country, preventing a more substantial front from making much impression on us. Not much rain in all of this for the weekend. A little more promising for Monday /Tuesday if the high south of the country dissipates as some models indicate it will. Then, according to windy, even some snow is possible on the mountains.

As per this. The high pressure area is dissipating/moving on and the rain picture is looking very good for Monday/Tuesday.
