Rain and storm for Cpt

My app forecast initially projected an afternoon of fairly heavy rain starting 2-3pm till early eve. A good few hours on Thursday too....

But, it's been sunshine for most of the day Fish Hoek side only recently have skies started to darken and cloud over with fairly strong gusts of wind.

Decent rain looks highly unlikely, perhaps a meek drizzle at best.

Rather heavy rain in Kenilworth (orographic effect near the mountain), probably less elsewhere. This is quite different from last week, when we had little wind and rain was more widespread.

Actually it did start raining around 5pm and still continuing, steady although nothing as heavy like last weeks downpours.
Temperature has definitely dropped as well, although don't think it'll reach single digits overnight.

No chance of single digits here in Somerset West
My lounge door is wide open upstairs here always
The digital thermometer is now reading 16.5 degrees in here
It is a beautiful winters evening with nice loud rain coming down and the river is loud outside

Fireplace, in this mild weather?! You live in a shack?

Jokes aside, it's positively balmy outside compared to recent night temps, must be nigh mid teens here in Southern subs, rain has stopped and wind subsided considerably.

Yeah, currently 16C outside here on the West Coast. Not cold like it was a week or so ago. 22C inside my apartment with no heater or fireplace. :p

Was about to ask this morning if it was also "warm" last night for anybody else. Swapped my duvet for my Lady-in-Red "kombers" last night.
Yup it was very warm in SWest last night
Didn't even wear a jersey when I braaid last night, nor afterwards. Weird warm evening it was.

Now we wait for the next rain, probably only next week or the week thereafter, except for a little drizzle tomorrow

:( Would give my left nut for a fireplace but we arent allowed to install them here. Stupid body corporate in a complex

Not even a gas fireplace.

This is my wood stockpile that lasts about 2 weeks if I use the fireplace every day.

I go through about 3 500 pieces of wood every year just for the fireplace. 20210728_190640.jpg
