So I was digging around the source code on the Rain website and came across the code for their sim checkout process.
Seems they are getting ready to launch!!!!!

I can actually go through the entire checkout process, wonder what would happen if I placed the order

Didn't they confirm eSIM was launched already on RAIN?

From my understanding it was to be made official down the line and judging by some screenshots I saw earlier in the week here in the forums, the whole process will be live very soon. My guesstimate is by 1st October.

Got somewhere lets see what they do

From the onset i dont think they gonna offer uncapped data on this eSim

I mailed Rain about esim , response .....

Hi , welcome to rain.

We currently do not support E-Sims (Embedded), we are looking into this for future development. Kindly note that an announcement will be uploaded on Mybroadband when we support this function.

Replied with the pic above. No further response from Rain

Some believe it will hopefully be out tomorrow. I really really want them to get on with this dam eSim already they dragging their feet about it

So im getting some delivery tomorrow, no idea what it will be, most likely just a sim card although my invoice states eSim on it. Cant image it being a QR code on some paper haha

They've never had a problem actually activating a sim card and making it work.

The problem is the RICA side of things and working that into the process so you can easily activate an eSIM from your phone etc.

So what's the issue with doing a normal Rica and then going on from there. Vodacom does esim on the one watch from Samsung so they probably not releasing it due to some silly fight between Vodacom and themselves.

Maybe Telkom since execmobile is bringing esim for them can get this boat moving

Maybe because they don’t want it to be the ball-ache that it is with Vodacom where nobody knows what you are talking about and also needing to pay extra for it.

The eSim vision is that you don’t need to see or call anyone and simply select it on your device and be on your way.

Do it properly, or don’t do it at all.

Just got a sim but with a baby QR code on it although it doesn’t work. After checking my portal I don’t see the activation there either.
think that small QR code on the sim is just their new SIM card number scheme

Someone somewhere doesn't understand what launches means...
So they don't actually have eSIM support.
What an idiotic announcement

I see the activiate sim link is active on the home page, with online RICA

Could see e sim soon
