Rain is down

Lol at MyBroadband article: "Another customer told MyBroadband he only received a response from Rain more than a week after logging a ticket. "

I have been waiting since lockdown to get a resolution to my ticket (opened in March). Every time I ask for a follow up, all I get is that its been assigned to their senior technicians and they will get back to me as soon as they have had a chance to look at it.
I am now under the impression, almost 2 months down the line, that Rain only has 1 senior technician? :p

Really, they need to get more techs dealing with more support queries. Their backlog is only increasing - they need to sort this stuff out!

Another problem I'm having today is that the 5G signal is back, the signal/speed (200mbps) are fine, but at certain times nothing works. Websites just stop loading, streams stop working, etc.

If it's not one problem it's another... At least there's some 5G, I'm scared to restart the router to try fix this new issue because knowing my luck the 5G will disappear for days again

Intermittent connectivity similar to last night leading up to the late night outage.
Bellville, WC.

Finally went out in hunt of connectivity that actually works.

RAIN is still in full RAIN mode... fracking useless...

I also move my device ,
I'm still getting kicked off 5G , but it happens ALOT more , I managed to find a good Balance between 4G and 5G although the 5G singal is not as good as it used to be the 4G part is a bit better ,
But still getting kicked , It works for about 10-15 seconds ,
I also noticed that it drops me almost immediately if there is a rush of data requested from the internet , like if i open Youtube and start a stream ,

So atleast the signal on both 5G and 4G is below the recommended -85 .
And i have both on the positive side regarding quality .

Can confirm similar behaviour my end.

Once stable, ping is good right up until traffic requests hit the route, then throughput dies. If I didn't know any better I'd accuse them of having broken QoS somewhere because the behaviour is very over-saturated-QoS-like.

hahahah i had the exact same thought

Same troubles here. Internet is off until I restart. Strange thing is: when I restart the router I have internet for a few minutes (10 minutes max), and a speedtest reveals something odd for the upload:

ibb.co

It is a flat line? It almost looks like they are intentionally throttling the upload speed to exactly 0.4mbps. My network stats are good as far as I know:

How long will this last @rain_mobile ? Also, I don't live anywhere near some of the guys on this forum. The router is mounted on the roof of our house in Rooihuiskraal, Centurion.

Been struggling with my Rain connection all day in Durban. Struggles to open webpages and cant stream anything.....buffering

Yeah you guys reflect my experience anything stops responding, the router shows full 5g. and afer awhile it comes back then after awhile it goes away.

If i restart the router when this happens its fine for about a minute and then stops again.

And i get VDSL like speeds when it works. But then uploads is extremely bad.

Same here, Full 5G Signal, runs fine for a bit, then as soon as i'm actually using internet. my ping jumps excessively and I disconnect. I would also like to know what is going on @rain_mobile
