RAIN LTE-A: Speedtests

Laughable, only time I can use this service I am paying for is at 5am.

I am sick and F***ing tired of this rain garbage. I'm getting speedtest results of below 1Mb. I've complained several times in the last few months with no joy. Also Axxess customer service is crap. I have no other alternative in my area unfortunately else I would never put up with this. I have a cap of 440GB but with these speeds I can't get to half that even. Screenshot_20180325-214754.jpg

This is what I get on Afrihost RAIN.

Faster than 84% of ZA? What a load of ***, how is that result calculated :crylaugh:

This is first time i've ever got anything near 10+ Mbps...usually 2-5Mbps

Location: Southern Subs , CT

That's just so not right. Fibre speed for mobile network. Not bad going!
You literally 1 in a mill with those speeds.

Look at the date the test was done. I was also getting that kind of speeds at that time. That was when the network was not congested.

Clearly...had I know what i do today, prob would have gone elsewhere. hey ho!

Well this sucker (/me) fell for it last week. Got a new account via Afrihost, little did I know my LTE only LTE when I am not at home, after 17h00 and this weekend I only got about 1-2 Mb/s Down and 10 Mb/s Up.

Right now my home is clocking 12 Mb/s Up 10Mb/s Down but sadly using TeamViewer to browse the internet at home via my Office was not the plan so does not help.

Look, they are going to ultimately have to
1. Refund or allow free cancellation for clients who are consistently (and can prove as such of course ) that they receive sub par speeds. To me sub par would be anything less than say 2Mbps in 2018 and with supposed LTE/LTE-A connection.
2.More importantly, deal with the now wholly over subscribed and chronic congestion on their network or else like so many before them in this field..

Cease to operate.
Simple.

P.S I am talking from a legal and IT background. 30+ years for what it's worth.

Care to name a single South African ISP that has folded because of network congestion?

Openweb, nope
Mweb, nope
Afrihost, nope
Cell C, nope
Crystalweb, nope
etc
etc

My speeds are still f-ing awesome, mainly because there's fibre all around so not many people are using my tower.

Fibre is currently being installed in my area, unsure when it will be up and running or how I will now when it is ready. I hope its soon as I will have no choice but to move to fibre.
