RAIN LTE-A: Speedtests

Can you do me a favor and tell me weather your router says 4G/LTE or 4G+/LTE-A on the home page... unless you doing like 128QAM and MIMO on the upload i really dont see how that speed is possible with 20Mhz TDD Spectrum

RAIN TDD seems to be a “firehose” on downloads and “dripfeed” on uploads. Battling to get even close to 1 Mbit upload speeds at any time of day, i.e. pretty useless for remote CCTV feed or cloud backups. Looks like the Fixed Mobile ambition by RAIN has been undone by their uncapped mobile deals - not a viable substitute for Vumatel FTTH.

Have you tried switching between 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz?
I dont think anything will be an alternative to fiber for a verry long time

Ping: 20ms
Download: 29.52Mbps
Upload: 18.26Mbps
Fixed Wifi via B618 router

Centurion - 20m away from router - wireless connection.

The upload speed in that speedtest is impossible on Rain network. Spectrum limitation and tdd makes it impossible to see a 60Mbps upload....

As a layman please explain why the upload cannot exceed 60 as the 2 speed tests by Euraw results surely show the upload over 60.

Not to bad - Rain

Hi All - FYI

Attached is Analysis of my Rain connection. I am considered to be outside the signal area. I am using 2x LPDA92 Poynting Antenna with Tplink Router + Huawei E398 usb modem. My TPlink runs custom compiled Lede firmware:
The Graph marked Ubidots is actual Latency measured over a 1 second interval to googles 8.8.8.8. The Real time traffic graphs are measuring downloads / uploads to a server in the USA. The CMD window displays my Actual LTERSRP @ -91, -14. And then the normal OOKLA speedtest. Very impressed considering I have managed to download use close to 1TB of data.

Getting a 20Mbps speedtest now.
Great. However, that's not the speeds I am getting... updating Steam, and it's maxing out at 500KBps. Seems to be shaped into oblivion.

Well, Steam does get shaped heavily to those speeds during peak time. Don't worry, once 11:00pm hits, you'll be going like a boeing again in no time ;)
