@cavedog - you might find this interesting

So borrowed another router with rain fixed sim in it. Both connected to same tower.

Ran speedtest on phone connected to fixed lte and speedtest on pc connected to rain mobile. in attached image top result is with speedtest running on pc and phone at the same time. The 2 below when just testing on rain mobile.

So it seems that 2 users can saturate the tower or cause whatever bandwidth management software they are using to kick in.

Also it seems like rain fixed is given preference as a speedtest run on the fixed will not degrade once you begin running a test on rain mobile.

My Rain fixed LTE-A speeds are also terrible last week or so. I use the mobile uncapped during the day and from 6-11 the Rain fixed LTE sim. There is a very big difference in speed. The Rain fixed is slow

That's true, my Fixed speeds were always better than mobile but now they're about even. The image above is on my mobile sim. I couldn't even connect to the speedtest on the Fixed sim

This is strange - I have tested 2 Routers - 1 connected via mobile and other via fixed to same tower. Running speedtest at the same time. The fixed runs full speed but mobile stalls as fixed runs. So seems like they given preference to fixed?

Milnerton, Cape Town.

Quite happy with the results, and seem pretty consistent.

I'm using Huawei B618 Router with Poynting XPOL-06 Antenna in Soweto & can't complain -:)
