Rain Mobile Feedback Thread

So what do we honestly think the FUP policy will be for the uncapped R250 - 50 gigs a month?

You're literally on the best physical medium possible for internet. Why would you cancel a fibre line?
 
On a line that did 5-6MB/s Via HTTP and Steam I get:

Hi All,

I am waiting to order a sim but would like to get a device with it, like the Mifi device, but wanted to know if there are better options that what Rain is currently offering (the Hauwei E5573), I would like something I can use on the go and that would also be suitable to use at home as a device that I could connect to my pc.

Buy a proper router : b315 or the B618.

He wants something portable and small, and the E5573 definitely fits the bill.

[MENTION=527729]OGYoda13[/MENTION], I would look at the E5885 instead. It's a Cat6 modem, so it can do carrier aggregation across two bands and gives you better speeds overall. Plus it acts as a powerbank, and has an Ethernet port.
 
If I want to use one of the sims in my B315-926s IAfrica supplied router do I need to set up another profile with APN = rain?

Similarly with a Vodacom Huawei P10 mobile?

Yes, both internet & rain works but
for my Fixed-LTE I got an sms saying I must use internet APN
and mobile one (This one) got an SMS saying I must use rain APN

Fixed-LTE like in Webafrica/Afrihost Rain (100 gig pm) White card doesn't work in my phone
Mobile-LTE direct from Rain (R50 a gig/R250 uncapped off peak) Transparent Card works in anything

Huawei B618

They both get the same speeds just the deal's very.

Gotcha. Tried in both devices, but still no signal..guess it still needs to be activated...

Thanks [MENTION=91196]CataclysmZA[/MENTION] will have a look, and yes as stated looking for something portable! If anyone els has other suggestions please do!
