What is the Supersonic FLTE speed?

I need to get home WiFi. I am scared of Rain because of the many connectivity complaints. It seems this 5G router is not great and most Rain customers request for it to be swapped for an outdoor waterproof router installed on the roof. I like the Supersonic For Real Deal Uncapped wireless plus with 1TB FUP because I don’t think the house will go past 1TB nobody is a gamer only tv streaming. Also if we pass 1TB it gets throttled to 10mbps which is better than 2mbps or 1mbps from MTN. But I don’t know the original speeds the Supersonic FLTE router provides before FUP throttling.

You chose the worst two options known to man. Pick literally anything else.

If you can't get fibre, use someone like Afrihost.

At least with Afrihost you can cancel online without call centres and debit order issues.

Alright I’ll have a look at these. I was scared of the FUP for MTN. Insane throttling after 400GB. That Afrihost pure LTE looks great but 950pm may be a little too high. I wish I could get Fibre but it’s not in my area.

No 5G?

I thought there was. I’m always on 5G on my phone. I use MTN. But apparently your iPhone can show 5G when you’re really not on 5G lol. Different coverage maps tell me different things. Coverage map on MTN website says there’s 5G in my area, I just went on Axxess and it said MTN fixed 5G is available in my area but then I click “get it” and the next page tells me it isn’t. So I don’t know

That sucks man. Give rain a shot, but if there is no fibre I assume that everyone in your area will be on Rain so it will be very slow already. Maybe, maybe not. Worth a shot. Good luck!

The MTN or Telkom LTE lines would be fine but I think my family would always be over the 500-600GB FUP limit they set and speeds going down to 2mbps or 1mbps. I’ll just give Rain a shot at least it’s month to month so I won’t be tied down to 12 months. Thanks for all your help though man at least I know what I’m getting myself into now

I wonder what the odds are that Afrihost will update their FUP policy on pure-lte as well - 100mbps down to 10mbps after 500 I can live with - I have Rain LTE uncapped and that's forever stuck at 10mbps max. I don't want to cancel that to try Pure-LTE and then get hit with sub-10mbps throttling. Rain no longer these packages so if I cancel for another provider there's no going back.

With Rain it all depends on the area. It’s great in some, it’s not good in others. After checking with my neighbours it seemed we were one of the Rain-friendly neighbours so we got that one and it’s been great so far. Never seen it below 32mbps. The 5G rain tower was just out of reach for us to get the 60 or 100mbps line but hopefully they do something about that like put a booster on it. As long as all the other options have FUP throttling I’ll stick with Rain until there’s fibre

What options do I have between Afrihost Fixed LTE / Axxess Fixed LTE / Rain 5G ? (bear in mind we don't have cover for Afrihost 5g / Axxess 5g)
I don't want to be geo-locked , we move from location every day to a different one - require fast download speeds

Afrihost Telkom LTE. It is not geo-locked nor does it require a specific router, as long as you have an LTE device and an LTE signal, you are good to go.

Hi - Why purchase through Afrihost and not directly through Telkom? What is the reason / benefit? Obviously, Afrihost puts an extra levy one the price
