Rain shelves plans to launch prepaid

Rain appears to have shelved plans to offer prepaid services in South Africa, with the company punting its Rain One (stylised rainOne) product instead.

MyBroadband asked for an update on its plans to launch prepaid packages after it revealed its intentions to do so in July last year.

I wonder if those subscribers who subscribed to 60mbps and 100mbps with 4G coverage only can actually get those speed, remember rainone fallback to 4G if you don't have 5G coverage

By this time I'm not surprised. Luckily I still got 1x R50/GB SIM active (hardly used), but their new offerings don't do it for me.

According to their coverage map I'm only a few roads away from 5G availability.

I'm (still) in their 4G coverage which was the case a few years ago, but then, I could walk faster than the speeds I tested (<1 Mbps).

Increasing my Telkom LTE cap from next month which gives the fastest spoeds out of any of my available networks, with reasonable latency (mid 20's usually).
