Rain shows impressive growth in subscribers

African Rainbow Capital (ARC) co-CEO Johan van der Merwe has provided details on Rain’s latest subscriber numbers, which paints a positive outlook for the mobile operator.

ARC holds a 20.7% shareholding in Rain that the company values at R3.111 billion, which means it the mobile operator’s total valuation is R15.03 billion.

Impressive -- hopefully we can reduce the prices by 50% next year.

Data needs to be cheaper than chips.

Very progressive company with good management. Massive potential for a buyout or future growth so ARC will coin this either way.

They have been reliable and fast (in my area) since they jacked their signal up some weeks ago. But recently there were some slow speeds at random times and a dead signal at times.
I really hope this will not become the norm like last time cause I won't have the patience to go through another bout of a crap connection. Telkom's recently announced LTE offering will suddenly look like the obvious jump.

Hello,

I received my home 5G Combo a week before last - which did not work ( Your Web Service #3206593: [Web-Optimise 27816648266].

I then received another (new) package yesterday which, the nano sim card does not click in.

This is to request urgently, is a consultant can call me.

I stopped reading here:

Improvements to Rain’s network and customer service

Also, your “Jan van der Merwe” tag is incorrect.

Spin doctors at work for sure. Network is 10 000 - 20 000 times slower with no improvements in speed and reliability, forget the customer service, it is non existent. When there is an issue, having Rain e-mail you 2 or 3 days later does not help.

All fine and well.......now you have capital to sort out the pathetic speeds.

It's because like Hotel California, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

Maybe it's all those Takealot sims people are struggling to deactivate.

Well we'll see. After our fibre issue I ordered Rain as a backup (replacement?). Hopefully we get it before the d d of the week.

If I don't see in excess of 50mbps it's going straight back.

And take your current 1Mbps to 100Kbps. Gotcha.
I hear you, but unfortunately more like 50k for me. The experience was terrible. The only plus was that is was a cinch to cancel.
