Rain SIM card

Hi @adellejones

Please note that with our 5G packages, we do give a 4G sim card (Give a gig sim). You can activate the sim card on your profile
I'm currently on the 4G unlimited and being offered to switch to 5G Basic or upgrade to 5G standard (when i sign in I get a popup saying: congrats! you’ve unlocked faster 5G for less)

If I understand your quoted reply - you provide both the 5G sim/router and a 4G sim card? I'm not sure what you meant with "Give a gig sim" - does it imply you can use the 4G sim card instead if needed? And does that sim card work in the free-to-use router?

I'm not sure if the offered 5G will work for me - and it would be an issue if I switched and discover the 5G isn't working here. If I can insert the 4G sim card (or fail over to that if necessary) and use available 4G connections, I'd be very curious to try it out.

My concern is 'trying it out', and realizing my current setup is better/the only viable option, and not being able to 'undo' it all quickly and easily. I'm using a provided CPE device for my current setup.

Side rant:
It really sucks that one can't get a demo or a 'try before you "buy" option when exploring services, packages and devices (across all technologies). I went through hell trying to figure out what equipment to get to improve my LTE services here - spent thousands "figuring it out" and paying for other data packages to stay online before Rain rescued me with their CPE device to resolve my troubles. I'm sure I'm not the only person that's gone through that, unsure what boosters, antenna's or alternative routers to try out without having any idea if it will even work!
