Hi hardware experts :)

I'm in need of some advice, It's finally upgrade time in my house, I've currently got a gen one i7 belting along at 4.2 Ghz stable on a GigabyteX58 UD3R rev 2, The CPU and MB itself are fine so I'm not feeling the need to upgrade to Haswell. What I am going to do is upgrade GPU and RAM.

GPU upgrade is decided, I'm going to drop in a Gigabyte 780 Ghz edition.

The problem is with the RAM. I want to hit at least 24 gigs and I am struggling to find out if the board will support 8 gig DIMMS. If they do I will buy the below X 3

If not I will buy the below X 6

Does anyone have an experience with either on X58 or reccomendations?

Erm lower cl means better latency afaik . Anyway this doesn't really answer my question.

From research it appears the board get grumpy if u use 6 sticks of double sided DDR :( I've now logged a call to corsair to check compatibility

Agg sorry I never saw you were comparing both 1600Mhz I thought you were comparing 1600 with 2000Mhz so thats why I brought up the cas latency. Yea I guess only corsair or the mobo manufacturer can answer this for you.
