Ram timings

Hi,

Im having a bit of trouble configuring my RAM timings on the Asus M3N-HT Mempipe delux. When booting up I only see my ram is being detected as DDR2- 667 Unganged mode. I currently have 2x2GB Kingston HyperX 1066mhz modules installed.


According to Kingston the ram timings for 1066mhz speed is 5-5-5-15 at 2.2V

I have configured my bios like that, and my pc just dont boot up!

Can I perhaps try different timings or volts?

My pc is:
AMD Phenom 9950 BE
Asus M3N-HT Mempipe Deluxe
2xKingston HyperX PC8500 1066mhz ram, ( one chip is CL7 and the other CL5)

Any help will be much appreciated!

What is your FSB at? Do you have your ram clocks linked to your fsb or is it on manual?

You should only ever try 1066Mhz if you're overclocking and even then it's not really worth it. My OCZ Flex XLT RAM is rated at 1150Mhz and I only run it at 850Mhz.

Just drop it down to 800Mhz with timings of 5-5-5-15 and you should be fine.

The FSB is on its default, im not home now so I cant really go check. Most settings are on automatic in the bios.

So i need to oveclock the CPU to obtain the 1066mhz speed? Im not much bothered about overclocking, but will give it a try!

I assume theres not much difference between 800 and 1066?
