RAM won't fit..

LoL.

1st off - Ram has a 'gap' in the bottom. This is not in the middle, but slightly to one side. If you're putting it in the wrong way, the slot wont line up with the plastic in the socket.

Turn it around in that case.

2nd up - Both clips at the end MUST be open, otherwise it won't got in. If you press the memory in the clip must "click" most of the way close by itself. It shouldn't take a lot of pressure, but don't be afraid to push it.

If all else fails, use your foot.

the little gaps are at different places for DDR 1 and DDR 2 RAM
you might have the wrong RAM type

anathema - it can't be the wrong RAM as it was installed last year, I removed them when upgrading to DDR2-800 modules (so as not to slow down the DDR2-800 chips to 667)

You didn't specify that and as many have said, turn it around. :p

Get an industrial G-clamp, grip the ram and motherboard and slowly close it down ... :p

wow, okes, :D...

what you should try and do is get a hammer, cover it with a cloth(the metal end, and the cloth is there to not cause damage ;) ) and then begin to 'tap' the modules in... just increase the force of the hammering until they fit. it's really that simple

dont forget to wear an anti-static band will doing this..

And the tin-foil hat in case the government uses the physical contact between you and your PC memory to install some spyware in your brain.

RAM-into the slot... this will work:D...If not I'm a pretty nice guy! I'll take it off your hands and make it work!...If it's broken, take it back to the shop and demand your money back!...
