Oi!

Please help!

I bought a ram kit 2 X 512mb(Corsair)

But know when I put them both in, the pc wount startup meaning the pc powers up but nothing happens after.

I currently have one of those corsairs in and another older 512 ram module and it works fine(I think its a samsung ram module). It works perfectly.

Why is that the Kit doesnt work in the pc but the current setup does??

I'm hoping its fixable... eish! :(

Don't put them in the same slots directly to each other... if there is 4 slots of ram two is green and other two is red e.g.. 1, none ,1, none that is called activating the dimm channel otherwise the second option could be your bios?

It worked for me...

mmm... okey this is weird, I checked the ram separatly, first one works, then the second one failed, and when i retried the first one it failed!

WHY?

I have 3 DIMM slots...

Well its a an gigabyte mobo(cant tell you any more than that)
It supports DDR400 up to 2GB total
amd sempron 3000+
GFX Radeon 9200
300w psu

I dont know what "cpu-z" is but with running "dxdiag" the system model is AWRDACPI

Does that help?

If they fail randomly could be power problem. :)

If one fails consistently, you know what is wrong. :)

Seeing as you indicate a random error I would say power is a bit soft for the system. It is a borderline case because the other older ram module runs okay...

awrdacpi only says that board is using award bios with acpi enabled i suppose, install belarc advisor and have it audit your system, it will generate a web page, will give u most of the info u need

Scotty I wish I could, looks like I bought the modules for absolute nothing.

Eish, back to squire one. I still wonder what is the problem. Its not like anything on here is so POWER hungry besides it doesn't even work together on a 500w psu. And its not the Ram cuz they new + they sometimes work separatly.

eish thanx for your time guys!

::HAMMERS THE CRAP OUT OF PC::

::QUICKLY CHECKS WTF THE CLUNK SOUND WAS::

No, almost on all computers it says AWRDACPI

Just Google CPU Z very small app maybe like less than 1.5mb or so...
It will tell you exactly what Motherboard you have, cpu... memory etc. etc.

Its very helpful

+ have you tried using the ram on any other computer's in the house/flat ?

I have tried using the Ram on another PC and yet again same thing.

CPU-z says the mobo model is "nForce"

boot up with the 1 stick, then up the dram voltage to 2.1 in the bios

save settings and exit, shut down, put in da 2nd stick and startup

okey, guys this is CRAZY!

slot1: Old corsair 512
slot2: Samsung 512
slot3: New corsair 512

And now im left with the other new corsair!
I've tried various combination, some ram works in some slots and some works better together, and looks like this setup works the best, will I have trouble with bottlenecks?

Eish, I've never had 1.5 gig ram!!! WHOOP WHOOP!
