Upbringing has an influence. Even with an improvement in the way women are portrayed, it is still possible to undermine this by teaching something different in the home.

And yet, somehow, you have got this misconception that you are superior to woman. So you tell us where it came from.
 
One week it's defending the barbaric action of sentencing a rape victim to prison and 200 lashes, then next week idiotic imprisonment of a teacher because her muslim class named a class mascot teddy "muhammad".

I wonder what crazy defence there'll be for the suicide bomber or the beheading's.
 
It's worth noting that the guy she was with also got 90 lashes.

If someone is raped after walking nude through a park, do you expect the government to not enforce the laws against indecent exposure just because that person got raped?

The lashings are completely divorced from the rape itself.

Now, obviously, I don't agree with the law in the first place, but this whole rape thing is just a red-herring.

Obviously you must be under the impresison that our courts never prosecute on witness evidence alone, where no physical evidence is available.

The law then still requires punishment for a person for being raped pre-maridge or in-mar'idge although scientific evidence for the rape is available, the rape victim would still have to be punished for having pre-marital sex or adultery, because their was not 4 'reliable witnesses.

Oh? The news article states nothing about the punishment being meted out because the woman was raped.
 
That's correct. The witnesses have to be male. By making an accusation of rape the woman opens herself up to prosecution of sex outside of marriage, the penalty for which can include death, if she does not have four male witnesses to back her story.

Happens all the time in all places of the world.

In the western world, prosecution of rape cases often rest on the testimony of the rape victim alone.

You don't like it, fine, but Sharia is hardly unique in that respect.

in an Sharia court, people only require 4 witness testament through word of mouth , this does not prove that the witnesses are telling the truth, Sharia court also does not look for evaluate or look for scientific evidence, like semen or DNA profiling, i as they do in South African or Western courts.

The word you are looking for is forensic evidence, and I agree that not looking for it is stupid.

So if a woman claims that she has been raped, and does not have 4 'reliable' witnesses to bring with her after they watched her being raped, she has no case against those who rapped her, she may also be punished for the rape as it was either pre-marital sex, adultery or homosexuality.

Err, relavence to the topic at hand? She was not prosecuted for being raped, and the people that raped her had their sentences increased after her lawyer appealed against their lenient sentences.

WTF, What fuscking insane idiot will rape someone in front of 4 'reliable' witnesses, and if it was a fuscking insane idiot he may not be prosecuted as guilty as he may be freed under insanity provision.

I didn't see anything in the story like that.

Irrelevant, it still leaves the posibility fo punishment for some one for being raped in homosexual-sex, pre-marital sex or, while being married as that will make them (the victim) guilty of adultery.

Well, this particular story would seem to prove you wrong. The rapists were all sentenced, and there's no mention of having 4 "reliable" witnesses to prove the rape.
 
Well, you just proved Saudi Arabia does not actually follow the Koran explicitly in their own legal system. Nice going. ;)
