Rapidshare updates to Rapids

All MiPony users - the new 1.1.2 update will clear all your links, clear your password DB, reset your account passwords and everything.


still worth the update though, just a friendly warning to copy your DB's and download lists to TXT files.
 
I've had it with RS now - their latest change has gone from 99 rapids for 30 days (30GB data - essentially 60GB due to happy hour from 2am till 10am) to 495 rapids for 30 days (150GB).
That's a serious jump in amount of rapids - RS has definitely become my last resort file share service and once my current rapids are done, I'm not buying any more rapids from them.

Yeah, what the hell happened now again .....
i notice the site has changed & all my rapids are gone .... had about 200+ left which was good for 2-3 months ...
now all is gone with about 115GB to use till 18-10-2010 :wtf: :mad:

@ Keeper - With the HF account, can you use it at more than one location? eg, can I use it at work & home
I use the RS account at work & home and sometimes also download from both at the same time ;)

ive got 200 rapids left but cant extend my account

I haven't tried it, and don't think I will.... I have a year account, So I don't wanna get banned or something from Hotfile for "cheating the system"

RS works with a currency, rapids - so the faster you spend it the better for them....with hotfile, they are losing out on extra accounts if multiple people use the same account (even if it IS you, on another PC)

i've heard about people doing it though, with no issues........however I would google around first and read the Terms and conditions properly before trying this
 
I have used Hotfile with more than 1 IP, although I only switch when I am in desperate need of the files.

and so far I haven't received any notification of 'abuse' to the system.

also I think it comes down to "NOT DOWNLOADING AT THE SAME TIME" from 2 different IPs.
so ie you want something at 2PM from both IPs then that would cause a problem if you downloaded at the same time.

but using 2 IPs 'one after the other' hasn't caused a problem for me so far.

ahhhh, so that is whay my rapids dropped so suddenly :evil:

yeah also doubt I will be renewing rapids when these are done.

WTF??? just logged into my account and noticed my remaining rapids were gone, as well as all my files in file manager...

if your "Auto Extend RapidPro' setting was set to ON, then all your rapids got zapped off automatically.

I never received an email notice about the change in policy - if you didn't either I would take it up with them and get refunded your rapids.

Either way, the new system is expensive and restrictive (use within 30 days). Adios!

That setting was on OFF .... now everything is to default & ON :wtf:
NO e-mail this side :mad:
 
I was wondering how long it would take before they change this rapids sceheme again. Glad I moved to HF. Just killing the remaing download capacity I have on Rapidshare at the moment.
 
And I don't even know what "RapidPro" is...

yeah...think i'm out as well, They are fscking around too much now.
 
well I went into my logs, and apparently the Rapids got "sent" to another account.

I would like to know HTF that happened, as I think this would be the 3rd time my RS has been hacked.

my traffic also jumped from 159Gig to 143Gig :evil:

strange, didn't happen to me after upgrading. Love the export db function on the new version.

What do you guys think of fileserve? I see a lot of links these days...
 
well I get close to full speeds with FS and that's without account.

my latest few downloads have all been from FS due to that.

you do have to wait 10mins between though

But you need to enter the Captcha text if you are not using a premium account, right?
 
k guys need a quick info:

if you get the 500 rapids from RS, is that 150Gigs AND 1 month, or is it 150Gigs OR 1 month? whichever comes 1st?

I know an extension of you account ie is 500 rapids for 1 month which gives you the 150Gigs.

still not interested. I'm seeing less and less users sharing RS links (that might change now) and since HF started closing accounts that shared copyright material, I moved to FS and there hasn't been a thing I can't find and I get full 1MB/s speeds using IDM on my 10MB DSL line. My remaining 186 rapids can sit there for ever :)
 
yeah, I now have premium with MU, HF, FS and Oron.

just thing is, sitting with about 100gigs+ of download traffic left on RS and for me, that would be a waste to let go.

think I even bought more for TrafficShare at the time.
