Rapidshare

Might not be so easy for RS to secure when dynamic IPs are been used by many of it's customers including us.

Lets face it if someone really wants to they can hack into any site, a case of "where there's the will there's a way".

A download manager does work if you use 1 thread and obviously you can't enter the Rapidshare link straight, its for once you have been through the free page and entered the code etc.

The problem was getting the download to resume by getting another free link for the same download and changing the download URL in your download manager.

I was pretty happy when this worked for me once, but haven't got it working again :/
 
EHV, using a download manager like FG or IDM and then using 1 thread is no better than just downloading the file with FF or IE if you can't use resume anyway, besides you said you only got it resuming a download once.
 
I know, I don't bother with a download manager for Rapidshare.

But if this still worked a download manager would be very useful.. I guess I could try it out sometime again.
 
hehe, yeah. We havent been hacked though!! Wr checked it out in the loggs and all. Also Rapidshare tell you that download managers will use extra bandwidth and they are trying to create a download manager specifically for RS users! ;)
 
For those guys who dont have premium accounts, I use RapGet.

You just post the links into the programs and it downloads the files for you. Granted, you have to wait the hour or so between downloads, but atleast you can download files while sleeping. It was broken for months for rapidshare.com, but not for rapidshare.de, but its been fixed for the last week or so :)
 
If rapidshare account passwords are getting hacked I'd be very worried about giving them any payments for Premium accounts.

Is anyone experiencing problems downloading from Rapidshare (more specifically from yesterday)?

All the links keep turning up as "File Does Not Exist".

Have a Premium account and downloaded a bunch of stuff the day before yesterday.

Hmmmm, I can't download from RS since yesterday but I put it down to the fact that I had exceeded my 25GB per 5 day limit.:eek:
 
I've been using the RS account quiet often but seems as tho all the files are getting deleted :(
 
@fishfly, wait a sec I did read somewhere that RS were doing a "cleanup" and deleting a lot of files from their system, as far as I remember that was towards the end of last month.
 
not sure if they deleted all the files last week... I had some trouble getting some of the links... but they back up again as of yesterday... maybe they did do a MASS clean up :)
 
hehe, these file deletes are a bit annoying... I've been downloading gears of war (79 100mb files) and now found that jst the last 2 files have been removed from the server! Man i hope the guy re-uploads.
