Hi Guys,

Had a look through the forum and couldnt find any info with regards to this error message when trying to connect. Using a Huawei E620 modem and ver 9.1 of the VMC dash, each time it tries to connect an error message appears with the message RAS error code 633.

Any Ideas?

Read the FAQ? ;)

There are two links in there that lists all the RAS errors. Basically 633 means the ports already open or not configured.

I suspect you've got something already talking to the port, so the app (reporting 633) cannot talk to the modem.

Do you have VMC-lite or the Huawei dash? Maybe they're running when you try and launch VMC?

Or else, the DUN's not configured yet.

Are you also using ginggs' application with that E620?

PS: There is a newer VMC v9.2.* available from Vodacom's download page, not that you specifically need it, just saying it is available.

Hi V3G,

I'm not using Lite so I would imagine its the Huawei Dash? I'll download 9.2 and see if that helps.

Ginggs App? Is it a dash for the huawei too?

Yes, the best of them all IMO :). I recommend you download ginggs' app first, use it for a bit, then consider VMC 9.2 once you've tried ginggs' app :).

Just make sure that you don't have more than one dashboard app open at the same time - that's what v3g was pointing out might be the reason for the 633 error message...

Can you send me a link to Download Ginggs app?

Ginngs should be hired full-time at vodacom, they would be stupid NOT to.

give him a 'puter, a desk, a lekka paycheck and let him create the best Vodacom Connection program ever! VMC is ****.

New features:
-button you press, that does the whole USDD or whatever command for you, could be Check balance, could be buttons with all the bundles to buy, and buttons to recharge too - no need to remember *100*01*blablablablabla# - just click button, and enter voucher number.

wouldn't it be nice to just press the "Buy 2GB Bundle" button instead of that whole put-sim-into-cellphone-lingo (most users don't know of ginng's app)

My app can do this :D

Although i removed those features(for now) and focused on checking the data bundle. One Click and it retrieves the Data Bundle you have left, with a nice formatted date.
