Just placed my order as well... (I registered about 6:15 GMT)

I am trying to understand what some of the practical applications of having this device are? I presume most of you guys who are buying it already have tablets, laptops desktops etc?

I'll use mine as a webserver.

I registered on the SA website, but ever got a confirmation email or anything.
should i register again?

Same here - I eventually registered on their UK site and have been receiving updates. I complained to the SA site about it but it seems they are clueless.

We also have servers and media players.
Gonna use it as a media player / download server. :D

I was reading through a Linux magazine in CNA and it seems there's 2 models, 1 without hdmi and the beter model with an hdmi. I think its $25 and $35.

No, all have HDMI. One has LAN (B model), other one does not have LAN (cheaper A model). The primary video output is HDMI and the only additional cost is the connector. With lan, you need an extra PHY chip, and a somewhat expensive connector with integrated magnetics (isolation transformers).

ok, registered on the UK website.

what a waste of time registering with RS south africa :-(

Ok, i sent RS SA an email and they replied after 2 hours saying "have sent your enquiry to our Marketing department for assistance.
I will let you know as soon as we receive feedback."

so maybe not such a bad service after all.

I'm still chatting to their marketing dept - got the same problem. I originally registered a few months ago on the SA site - and didnt get any of the feedback mails. I then registered on the UK site a few weeks ago and am now getting them. Sent them a stinking mail as I had better not be at the back of the queue now.

I registered on SA site and also thought I was not getting any emails until I checks my Spam folder on GMail and found them all.
Still not able to order but got about 3 updates over the last 2 months.

Received a number of "updates" from local RS over the last few months, not that contain any ground-breaking information, to date anyway.

I tried searching...can you tell me who the email comes from?
