Ok heres the deal:

We have a RB532 with a SR5 on a tower, about 5 meters to the right there is another tower transmiting at 154.6625 RX / 147.6125 TX at 20w with no gain. We had problems with interfearence but putting the RB in a metal case and earthing it sorted the problem. We now have put in another RB532 earthed and everything and our problem is back. We are running at 5.8Ghz.

Any ideas as to what could be causing the interfearence?

There is a mod to fix this that Mikrotik does on the boards as of late, you bridge one of the points under the board to ground it looks like.

Check the CTWug forums Savagedavid posted a pic there.

Great thanks, but all the new RB come out with the mod standard.

Just remember that the more power u put out the more interferace u'll get with it aswell and ur sr5's is doing 400mw

I had instances of interference with high power cards. Turned out that not the boards but the oscillators on the actual radio cards interfered with 2 way radios.

Yip, realized it was not the actual frequency but rather the components on the routerboard. We used an aluminum enclosure for the routerboards and all is fine. It was a major source of lack of sleep for me for a couple of days though. Thanks for the help guys

Gromitt another thing that causes problems is the switch mode power supply that is usually used to power the routerboard. If you still have issues switch to a sinewave PSU (slightly pricier but not too much) and use STP instead of UTP grounded 1 or both ends (whichever works better)
