Rct UPS

Hi guys,
Does anyone know if the rct 650va ups can automatically shut down the pc if it detects a power failure. All I just need it to do it shut down the pc on power failure. I have contacted matrix and they say it can't but it comes with software so I am confused.

Anything with USB connectivity can

Load the software and it should be able to do it. as mentioned above the usb port is for that purpose. among others.

I have googled and cannot find a link any where to download the software. If I can check the software before I purchase it.

Dont even worry about the software. Windows can handle basics itself

There is also a generic app who's name I forget that can handle some extra scripting

I have just spoken to my client rearding this ups and they say it isn't really what's they want. They need a ups that can handle 1pc, the router, and a naz drive for at least 4 hours. What kva and Am I looking at so I can start getting prices

Might want to shop around, last time i checked they were cheaper than this, but that was some time ago. read the fine print too, the cheaper unit fan stays on constantly. My roommate has one, works exactly like a ups even though they call it an inverter.

As long as it lasts for about 4 hours they happy. If u get them cheaper that' will be good. I am shopping around.

What do you do for a living that you need to size a UPS of that size for client?

I do networking. But don't have to much knollage on ups. The client wants to have the pc and router up for a at least 5 hours if there is load shedding or power failure and so on.
