To be brutally honest, we get the message "I have X amount of stuff to upload" about two or three times a week. So with no offence to you, we really have no way of verifying whether or not that is true. Most of us have several terabytes worth of stuff that we have downloaded, so another 400 Gbs does not really excite us.

We have so many dud leechers joining who turn out to be washouts (only one real uploader for about every 25 who apply) that we have to be very careful of those we let in. So we have made the policy that before an invite is given you must have 1000 posts on the forum and have been a member for more than six months. That way we know that these guys are serious about being part of a community. Bitfarm is not just a torrent site. It is a strong sharing community and people who invite others are held responsible for those that they invite. So we could get a bad name by inviting people who turn out to be washouts.

So if this is something you really want, I am sure you will stick around. You might find someone who will give you an invite before then if you are lucky, but both you and him will probably be banned if you turn out to be a leecher.

Sorry it is so strict, but that is what we have to do to protect our precious bandwidth from being leeched by others.

Guess I'm screwed, even though I've been a member since 2006, I've only managed to get a massive post count....of just over 500, but what can I say, I'm not a very talkative guy :S

But, don't worry, I'll be here in 2012, maybe by then I reached the 1k post mark.

Hey I know what you saying man! About 3 years ago I setup a small lan in my area, invited some guys to share whatever they had, but they invited others and after the lan there were a whole bunch of pc's with viruses and malware!!! The guys I had invited personally were reliable, but I couldn't know how diligent the others were with their pc's! It was the 1st time (and sadly last time) I had setup something like that so I was not very good with creating a secure network.

I'm part of a car forum who have become quite a community, you learn who to trust and who not to, so it makes it easier to share stuff with!! When just any stranger gets in, there almost always is an argument!

Anyway, I first started posting on this thread with the intention of becoming better known to all the experienced guys (I've been registered since last year but have never had time to post) and THEN ask for an invite, but I've actually found that I can help out others even with my limited experience, so I am still happily posting away on mybb and to be honest I'm not interested anymore whether I can get an invite or not!!

People who register and post just to get an invite should be banned for a month :D

Howzit guys... i had a bitfarm account and it got banned coz i wasnt uploading much well that was before i got uncapped... now i got uncapped and i wish i could have my bitfarm account back :( if anyone is supa generous plz may i have an invite:o

Bull.

There are people without uncapped that are uploading. Even if you can't get original stuff to seed you could have always seeded back what you got.

When you download an 8gig file for eg. that means u have to upload atleast 4gig of that. Correct me if i am wrong plz. that means u have to use 12gig of bandwidth for the one file? when you have a 30gig local cap it doesnt go very far at all.

The rules of Bitfarm state don't download if your not sure you can seed or get to ratio to the required amount
 
yea i know and i agree and totally understand the bitfarm rules. i just wish i could get my account back i would seed everything i download now that i dont have to worry.

Nope, you have to seed back the 8GB at least. More's recommended. If you're a good seeder you'll need to get a 2.0 ratio, which means that you've just used up 24 gigabytes of your 30GB.

If that's makes you think, well I don't know about that then torrents are not for you! ;)

You see i want to get into local torrents as it is more reliable than nzbx...not as fast but reliable...

now that i have uncapped i wont stop the uploads ill just leave them to upload... no need to worry about uploads anymore just r@pe me for all i care got the bandwidth for it:D
 
And amazingly, they all have uncapped :rolleyes: Use all the other international torrents then if you have uncapped :rolleyes:
