re : good price?

No problem.

IMO forget this deal. If you have the R3k, rather get a new rig with a decent mobo...

Hmmm what's that cheap PC [online] store in Durban again, anyone? Go there if you can't get from Rectron (or another similarly-priced wholesaler).

Agreed. Don't allow yourself to get suckered cause you're desperate.

+1 PostmanPot :p

you see the thing is (and heres the inside scoop :D) im only 17. My parents will be paying for it. If im just asking for a computer its gona be more difficult than saying - i know a guy who can sell me a good value second hand pc a real bargain - ! you see otherwise im going to have to wait untill the end of next year :( and i want to play i want to play. sigh i need a part time job

Ok guys thanks for all the help and all the numerous threads i've asked for help with.

Im writing matric this year and my parents are really keen for me to focus on that.
They have promised me R12000 for a pc if I can get an "A" average (my usual marks around there)

i dont want to be greedy and so i think its best i wait instead of wasting my time and money now on something thats not worth it. what i really want is a gaming rig that will last me for the following 2 years after (within reason)

o ja forgot to mention this discussion just happened

Well if your current PC will hold you out until you get your "A" for Matric, then definately wait.

Good luck :)

I wish my friend still had the account with Rectron, which's no more.....Yesterday and today PC international had no stock of the ASUS P5KPL VM, which is the same chip set and spec with the GA MB Postman mentioned here......and price is cheaper because it's wholesale.......

PC International needs to stock up on those Asus motherboards, last time I was there they didn't have the P5N-E SLi in stock...
