Reached my cap already?

I usually have a 3 gig cap, but I decided to give axxess a call last week and increase my cap to 10gig for this month. So from friday ive been downloading merrily (384k line). Its been basically 2 full days/nights of downloading stuff using torrents. But the speed has never been much more than 15k down and 10k up.

I downloaded about 3 gigs this weekend according to Azereus (my torrent client), and before that I had only used about 1.5gig of my cap this month. So by my calculation taking into account what was being uploaded aswell as downloaded I shouldnt be much past about 6gigs right? Well although im still new to adsl, it appears as if ive reached my cap because I cant get to any international sites. Surely this cant be right. Plus I went to the axxess site to check my bandwidth and it sais ive used 15.9 gigs this month. Thats impossible right? I literally had 1.5gigs used by friday, and now after 2 days of torrenting, im somehow at 15.9 gigs? impossible.

Plus my cap is 10gig, so howcome im at 15.9? Please could someone offer some advice here? Im new to adsl so maybe I dont understand something here. Whats going on?
 
I've heard that the uploading is quite hectic with torrents. When you're dowloading, the portions you've got are shared to others... if you can analyze your traffic, you'll probably see more up than down traffic...
 
I have seen ADSL clients do 4 - 6 Gig / day with torrents - 4 Gig down and 2 Gig up. 10 Gig cap doesn't last long like that ;)

remember with adsl if you dont disconnect it doesnt know your cap is blown

or just get the 30 gig not much more

yeah 199 for 30 gigs is awesome
 
hmmm, thanks for the tip killadoob. I didnt know that. But come to think of it, everything was fine even though it said I had used 15.9gig. Then I rebooted my pc (stupid me), and thats when it must have realised I had reached the cap, and everything came to a screaching halt!!

Well im always having arguments with people who say that using torrents are much better than using dc++. Well this has just given me more fuel to convince people that dc++ rules. There is no uploading unless someone is downloading something in particular from you. Then once they are finished, it stops.

Oh well, looks like ill have to just wait till next month.

Check your stats for duplicates and give them a call if there are any. Others have been experiencing the same problem.

most definately.. it's still wrong to say "was", though, as it is still available. i'll allow you to say "was" _after_ 1 november ;)
