RealDebrid discussion thread

yeah, i do have a few hdds of media, that is the only thing i've ever used plex for (full disclosure), i'm no plex expert, but kodi still does a better job. i just know the one time i tried to play something and there was no sound, and after some googling, i found out it was a codec thing, which was solved by using the kodi plex app instead of the straight up plex app (go figure).

I only use plex of the one lg smart tv in the house or else i would use the android box and kodi but i gave the box away because it didn't do netflix.
I love Plex, and have a setup where new episodes download to my PC and then automatically appear in my Plex library, but I don't want to be dependent on the PC being on for me to be able to watch. Plus, I like the idea of things not taking up space on my computer and then I have to mass delete them every now and then.

100%. I stopped DLing when I discovered kodi and only streamed. I DL some stuff for the other members of the household (extra labour of love). I have never used plex myself so am very noob with that but i hear its very powerful like i can stream to my bro in sydney if i wanted?

Yeah, I think people set up always-on media servers and then access them anywhere they are. I never set that up though, I just streamed locally.

Has no one heard of Syncler for Android Tv? You people have been hiding under a rock. Please all do yourselves a favour. Get Syncler+ and RealDebrid, use Kodi as the video player.

This looks pretty good, I will try it out!

Currently I am using sonarr, radarr, jackett, deluge, plex server and kodi with plex addon + kodi remote app.
An automated subscribe, monitor, download media centre. I’m running in docker on Linux, on a little ThinkCentre - i3-6100 Intel 530 graphics

I want to move to RD. I’ve paid 90days.

I want the same media management user experience I have now:
* subscribe to shows, and get notified of new episodes, as well as having access to previous episodes/seasons (keyboard and mouse is fine)
* use phone(s) to control the media browsing, playback

And equally importantly, I want seamless 4K HDR (the tv should switch auto switch to HDR mode). I want to be able to play the best content.

I’m willing to buy/replace hardware

I basically want my identical setup, except that I am streaming everything, instead of storing on hard drive.

Suggestions appreciated

Seems like shield pro is the way to go here from a hardware point of view

This should work too:

Yeah, just seen this now too. A lot cheaper, and supports AV1 (which might become very useful is the scene starts widely supporting it)

Does it do proper HDR switching?

You can just toss rdtclient into your *arr stack

Sorry, I can't help you there. I don't own one but is in my wish list because of AV1 support future proofing. My TV broke and I'm poor so I just use the PC now. I can only dream of 4K.

Prefer something with RJ45 LAN.

Ahh definitely, missed that.

Nova then looks like the one. HDR and AV1.

Dolby Vision would be nice, but not essential.

So it would be the Nova running Kodi + Seren + Trakt + Real Debrid?
