Rear foglights driving thread

Well I see those often enough, but then I simply assume they have them on permanently.

Which is also why I put my bike on full brights the moment there is a drop of rain or fog otherwise I will be utterly invisible.

:wtf:

Please don't. It's extremely inconsiderate to others. Brights are for you to see a dark road when there are no other drivers on the road.

I use my rear fog lights only when someone behinds me has front fog lights on and there is no fog.

To ALL the Audi, BMW, Mercedes, VW Polo & Ford Figo drivers out there, this warning light on your dashboard:

means that your Rear FOG lights are on!

If you are in any doubt as to what all the various pretty lights on your dashboard are actually for, this handy chart may come in useful!

Maybe they are getting into the festive season and they feel they need to have as many lights on as possible on their vehicles :)

This person is driving in broad daylight with the rear fog lights on
I can kinda deal with the "broad daylight" situation. Its dusk / night where its an issue...

We've got too many people piloting 2+ ton 4x4s that shouldn't be entrusted with a shopping cart. I can deal with the BMW drivers etc...but 4x4 drivers they seem universally oblivious to basic physics and the concept of following distance - no hope. One would imagine that those piloting the heaviest vehicles have a marginal grasp on concept like inertia...nope.

Yes I know you're sitting higher, can see more and thus feel more confident...but that doesn't bring those 2+ tons to a stop any faster...so please...fk off with the tailgating Mr 4x4.

Fog lights in rain is as retarded as park lights in rain. JFC these lights have their usage cleary specified in their name! Fog and Park.

Polo at around 5pm with rear fog on. Albeit small (on the right)

Fog lights in rain are not retarded. When driving in rain on the highway cars leave a trail of "mist" behind them and reduces visibility, the lights help in this situation.

No it does not. This has been dealt with, in this thread... Now all the drops are glowing red, making visibility even worse.

In the rain the road surface is wet and acts like a mirror for these glaring red read fog lights. Regular lights (NOT park lights) are more than sufficient in the rain.

Mine is called a "Follow me home" light. I can now be free of abuse when I use my rear...I mean, follow me home light ;)

"Follow me home" lights are when the lights stay on for a set time, after you've exited and locked the car at night...

Saw this one today going down Cape Road, a silver Polo FYT 232 EC
