Rear foglights driving thread

I am happy to report that at least in a Kia you can’t be “cool” and that it’s impossible to have the fog lights on without the main beams.

You can’t jippo them on alone or with DRL’s.

Even better you can’t control the DRL’s at all so you can’t drive in the pure dark with them on in front and nothing at the back like an utter retard.

So when you’re in really thick mist, the kind that your headlights (even on dim) cause glare reflected off the mist, and you need to have only your fog lights on so that you can just barely make out the edge of the road and/or the white lines as you creep along in first gear, you’re screwed?

Proof that fog lights aren’t really fog lights. They’re just there to be used by twats who have never even seen proper mist while driving on well lit urban roads.

Was going to say the same: real fog requires fog lights.

Not sure if the auto function would take care of that but I doubt it.

Sure you could switch it to parks then if required.

Can't say I've ever experienced that though.

My old car didn't have fog lights- was illuminating to know what driving in real is like ;)

Only had mild fog with the new car, but it's already noticeable using the right lights in the right situation.

Out of interest, are the different lights mentioned in K53?
 
Some idiot in a silver 2018 BMW 320i with MSport body kit was driving at around 8:30am this morning on Wiliam Nicol with his car lit up like a Christmas tree, every light that could stay on (except indicators and brake lights) was on

- Rear lights
- Rear fogs (2 of them)
- Main beams
- Front fogs

I had to deal with him from around Epsom Downs all the way to Hyde Park, where I then turned to my office, he kept going towards Rosebank.


EDIT:

Take these were clear driving conditions, not a cloud in the sky, typical sunny Gauteng morning. Definitely no fog

Unlawful. You're not allowed to use park lights while car is in motion :p
 
Its not like the cops in our wonderful /sarcasm country will stop people for having the wrong lights on anyway.
