Rear foglights driving thread

Agree. It is about the brightness of the fog lights which are permanently on, which then makes the brake lights less noticeable , especially IF as on many cars such as BMWs, the fog lights and the brake lights are at the same level, or even in the same light unit.
 
On our Sharan I only use the rear fog lights at night when reversing. Helps a little bit.

Otherwise they remain off, and there is no way that you can accidentally switch them on - you have to pull the light switch out two clicks. VW drivers will know what I mean.

Supported, front fogs are a non-issue they shouldn't bother anyone in anyway. They are not nearly as bright as some DRL's out there. I use mine all the time as well, sometimes with the park lights only when the light has faded but it isn't dark yet.

No problem with front fogs, i could care less. But it's stupid driving around in daylight/night with rear fogs on where there's simply no fog.

Is it lawful to leave fog lights lit when there's no fog? The law states headlamps between sunset and sunrise. :p

Just switch your normal headlights on. It really isn't that hard.

Had to contend with all these idiots last night on the N1. 2 hours, 3 bumper bashes between Centurion and Lynnwood.

The irony was that 2 of the cars involved in a bumper bash BOTH had their foglights on! The reason is simple. YOU CANT SEE IF A CAR IS BRAKING IN FRONT OF YOU BECAUSE THE FOGLIGHTS ARE BRIGHTER THAN THE BRAKE LIGHTS
