Rear foglights driving thread

I thought there would be pictures in this stupid thread.

My ridiculous car only has reverse lights on the drivers side of the rear bumper, so sometimes I switch on the fog light that is on the other side of the bumper so I can see what's happening on that side, sometimes I forget to switch the fog light off.

And here I was hoping to see what pain I was inflicting on vehicles behind me, but no pics, what a let down.

Pics can't capture it. And forget? Can't you see the lit icon on your instrument cluster? Makes me want to use that word again.

It doesn't show a warning on the cluster, I have old school vehicle.

TBH, I don’t have the dash light on mine. It’s only there:

On virtually every car you can't forget your rear fogs. The switch for the front fogs could be left on so you could forget that, the the rear fogs require you to intentionally turn it on every time...

Seriously though guys...having read this just before going home...I paid attention to the cars coming from the front and observed the following.

1. Shocking amount of cars that has got no lights on at all in the Joburg weather today.

2. Front fog lights improves the visibility of the cars coming from the front....for me anyway...so switched mine on also. I did not find them irritating or distracting.

I cannot comment on the rear ones as I don't know if the cars in front of me had theirs turned on. I kept my rear fogs turned off.

That's why the name of the thread is about REAR ones.

But the bigger problem with fronts when people ONLY have them on and nothing else.

The deeper issue with that is that in most cases you cannot do that by accident so it's a conscious decision which makes you a very special toss pot if you do that to endanger yourself and others.

Well that would be the first time ever.

It's especially bad in rain because of the light bloom it causes so you can't see past the vehicle easily.

A nightmare on a bike where visor full of rain is already causing visibility issues.

So either you are already blind from looking at them constantly...or you never drive at night.
